Cycle time is a metric that measures process speed. It’s the speed of your development time, how fast you can deliver a feature to the customer, from the moment work has started to the moment it’s been delivered.

The **Cycle Time** indicates an organization's development velocity. The **Cycle Time** is the sum of four metrics, each of these metrics corresponding to a stage in the software development process:

- **CODING** \- Time to Issue PR from First Commit
- **PICKUP** \- Time to First Review
- **REVIEW** \- Time to Merge from First Review
- **DEPLOY** \- Time to Deploy from Merge
